Chauffriat & Barou was a famous manufacturer in the town of Saint Etienne in France. This cutler anvil is probably a prototype. The number 1 is engraved on the anvil. This anvil was probably the FIRST and the LAST cutler anvil with this shape of the french manufacturer Chauffriat & Barou. The next cutler anvils which have been built by Chauffriat & Barou has not the tool include in the anvil, the anvil has removable tool stuck in a slot.
